This audit took me just over 4 hours and there is no way I could have accomplished that with the records the way they were. At the end of the audit I had about 15 lines I could not find by name and used the search functions by date, provider name and codes to find the information and piece together the associated services and MR. I estimate that having the MR in the format that you gave them to us saved me approximately 6-8 hours of audit time fumbling around in the MR and re-reading the same records. I’d say what MLS did from my standpoint (bill data entry and assembly) represented some 20+ hours of work...this one was so bad. A bowdlerized version is – imagine someone comes into my living room and blasts 3 bags of garbage all over the place.
